Why I Keep Giving Barack Obama's Campaign Money

It struck me this evening, in the midst of possibly the stupidest and most insulting expression of American politics I've ever experienced (and yes I say that as someone who came of age during the Bush administration, those fuckers at least respected your intelligence enough to know they had to lie to you), that it's important not to lose sight of the moment we're in right now. There are some people who can tell you about their perspective and their experience in a way that enlarges your life, and gives you a little piece of genuine insight. And it strikes me, listening to him read Dreams from My Father this evening, that one of these people is poised to become President at a moment that seems so critical, and objectively is so critical.
